About the cause

We care about the cause

The HealthyUNow Foundation was started to create virtual and physical communities for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

The physical community will be a tribute to the understanding many parents have that an unhealthy environment, both internal and external, will result in the development of the disease.

A wellness center will have programs and therapies with proven results, such as healthy nutrition, gluten-free/casein-free (GFCF) foods, organic gardening, an exercise area, animal therapies, creative therapies in art, music, and drama, as well as medical care, and family and financial counseling.

An education/vocation center will provide a day program for adults, independent living skills, and vocational training, after-school programs for kids, and more.

A residential center will feature supported living and supervised living facilities, a residential home, and visitor housing.

The HealthyUNow Foundation (HUNF) was founded on December 28, 2011, by Julie A. Buckley, MD, along with Laurie Thomas and Michele Palumbo, and is designated a 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS.

HealthyUNow Mission

The HealthyUNow Foundation recognizes autism as an environmentally induced medical illness. Its mission is to develop virtual and physical communities that support the treatment of autism for individuals and their families in a Healthy Living* environment.

We believe that children on the autism spectrum are the “canaries in the coal mine” (highly sensitive to the environment). They need safe havens that provide comprehensive services for them and their families.
